Hello.

I am András Maros, a writer, born in Budapest in 1971. I went to school in Holland, in the United States, in England and in Hungary. I have a degree in economics. (Why?)

I worked as a telephone directory agent, a factory worker marking microchips with a laser, a janitor, an English teacher, a math teacher, a busker (playing violin & flute), a newspaper boy, a painter (of walls, mostly beige and white), a tennis player, a tennis coach, a tennis racket stringer, a locker room attendant, a transporter of goods at a Chinese store (then the manager of the same store, then again the transporter, then the HR manager, then the Chinese owner’s personal translator and finally the transporter again), an advertising copywriter and a creative director.

Perhaps because of all these employment ventures, I became a writer.

I've published nine volumes of fiction; I've written a few plays and screenplays. I also translate plays from the English language.

I've published several hundred shorter pieces in literary journals, national weeklies and dailies. I wrote a fiction column for one of Hungary’s national daily newspapers.

I love Nutella.
